Boise is a city situated along the northwestern side of the United States in Idaho. It is the most populous city in Idaho and, at the same time, acting as its capital. It is also Ada County’s seat. It also serves as the primary economic, government, transportation and cultural center of the area. According to the 2007 Census, Boise’s population has reached 202,832, making it the 3rd largest city by population in the United States Pacific Northwest.

Boise Attractions and Places of Interest

There are many places of interest in Boise. Activities you can do here include biking and extensive hiking at the Boise River Greenbelt. For those who love rafting, swimming and fishing, you can head off to Boise River. Kids will also enjoy touring the zoo within the Julia Davis Park. You can find here more than 200 animals which represents 80 species from all over the world.

During the winter season, those who adore snow tubing, snowboarding, downhill skiing and cross country skiing can travel to Bogus Basin Mountain Resort. Outside of the city limits, on the other hand, there is the World Center for Birds of Prey. This institution played a major role on the Peregrine Falcon’s establishment which later on removed it from the list of endangered species. The institution is currently breeding a very rare California condor. This is also one reason why Boise is popular to many publications like Sunset, Fortune and Forbes among others, citing the city for its quality of life.
