A fine taste of the cuisine in Barcelona is available at a number of different restaurants. The trick is to find one or more that go that extra step to provide a unique experience along with satisfying your hunger. A few of the more notable restaurants located in Barcelona are described here. Remember that this sampling only includes a small number of all of the many choices that are open to those looking for a restaurant serving excellent food.

Alkimia

Located at C/Indústria 79, Alkimia is only open on Mondays through Saturdays. It’s also closed on public holidays. Accessible by metro, this restaurant doesn’t open until 1:30 pm, takes a break from 3:30 pm until 9 pm, and then closes at 11:00 pm. Nonetheless, it offers an amazingly authentic taste of local cuisine with a touch of modern age flavor and design. Accessible by bus and metro, the Alkimia offers minimalist décor that makes the excellent taste of its dishes pop even more. Offering classic dishes that draw from the flavors of the sea and complimenting them with delightfully delicious desserts is one of the trademarks of this Barcelonan restaurant.

ArtKuisine

Located on Madrazo Street in the Santaló area, ArtKuisine provides a charming atmosphere and tasty Mediterranean cuisine that tempts the palate with its robust aromas. In fact, at ArtKuisine, diners can enjoy a fascinating display of artwork upon the walls as they feast upon the cleverly crafted artwork display upon their plates. Color is artfully used to create artistic masterpieces that not only please the eye but also the taste buds, hence the name for this recently established restaurant. The daily menu includes a chef’s personal selection, an a la carte menu, and several tasting menus. Fish dishes are popular and uniquely flavored.

Comerç 24 Restaurant

Comerç 24 Restaurant, located at Comerç 24, offers an upscale location with a taste of luxury for those who prefer chic over cheap. Accessible by bus and metro, this restaurant doesn’t open until 1 pm, takes a break from 4 pm until 8 pm, and then closes at midnight. . This classy establishment provides Spanish cuisine with a twist on the seasonings and presentation of the dishes. Service has been noted to be excellent and quick. However, the décor is a bit of a mix despite its scattrering of luxury items. Reservations are essential for good seating.

Cuines Santa Caterina

Located at Avinguda de Francesc Cambó, 20 in the El Born area, Cuines Santa Caterina offers an excellent variety of four cuisines including Italian, Mediterranean, Asian, and Vegetarian. Each dish is made with freshly purchased ingredients and served in a unique setting. The restaurant offers an imaginative use of Ficus trees that have been planted in between the tables and seating areas. The décor is distinctively Scandinavian with a clever use of stone, wood, and glass. Accessible by metro, this restaurant doesn’t open until 1 pm, takes a break from 4 pm until 8 pm, and then closes at 11:30 pm.

El Quim de la Boqueria

Located at La Rambla, 91, El Quim de la Boqueria is a popular establishment. It opens at noon and is closed on Sundays. A family owned business, the cuisine is centered on delicious offerings of tasty, traditional Catalan dishes that tempt the palate before they even arrive at the table. Seating is provided with outdoor tables only as this is an outdoor restaurant located in a market stall at one of Barcelona’s famous markets, the Boqueria Market. Some of the excellent choices hungry patrons have to choose from include arroz negro, chipirones, and Boquerones. Accessible by several bus routes, this restaurant doesn’t open until noon. It is closed on Sundays.

Moo

The Moo Restaurant is located within the Omm Hotel offers a contemporary design with Mediterranean dishes with unique presentations and flavoring combinations. This restaurant also offers a fine choice of flavorful wines to enjoy with your meals. The foyer features an enjoyable cocktail bar for pre dinner drinks or to fill in the gap if you arrive early for your reservation. Accessible by Metro Diagonal, this restaurant doesn’t open until 1:30 pm, takes a break from 4 pm until 8:30 pm, and then closes at11 pm. It is closed on Sundays.
