Jamaica is a much sought out destination in the Caribbean promising an idyllic tropical escape complete with sun, sand and the sea. The country’s spectacular coastline boasts a number of beaches ranging from the white sand beaches with lively beach bars in the north to the more remote, rocky and often black sand beaches in the south. Whether you just want your own quiet corner under the sun or want to be part of the crowd, there is a beach in Jamaica that is perfect for you.

Jamaica gave birth and strengthened the concept of all inclusive resorts as an alternate to a hotel stay and accordingly, you will find a number of holiday resorts boasting exclusive villas, cottages and apartments on the island. Whether you are traveling single, with your partner or with your family and friends, you will find a Jamaican villa, cottage, condo or apartment perfect for your budget and requirements. These Jamaican villas or apartments give you all the privacy and space you need to make the best of your beach vacation in Jamaica. These resorts provide access to their own private beaches and are also well connected to the other beaches in Jamaica, some of which are listed below.

Seven miles beach: The name is a bit of misnomer because the beach actually stretches for 11km (6 3/4 miles) along the sea. Located in Negril, this white sand beach is considered to be one of the most famous beaches in the world. Once a sleepy fishing village, Negril is today a much sought out vacation destination that caters from young singles to families. The beach is located in the northwestern section of the island and is not for the conservative for there are some clothing optional sections also.

Frenchman’s cove: Located just east of Port Antonio, the Frenchman’s cove has an entry fee of £2 to get in but once you are in, you’ll realize the price is definitely worth it. The beach overhung with foliage paints a pretty picture. There is a freshwater stream where you can enjoy a dip or if you wish, you can venture into the sea.

Boston Bay: The beach is located a few miles further east and is a must visit for those who want to be away from the crowds. The beach is pretty tine and has suffered from the ravages of a recent hurricane. Yet, somehow that has somehow added to its attraction. If you are looking for something to eat, you don’t have to venture out far for it is lined with jerk stalls selling peppery, smoke-grilled pork and cups of fresh young coconut milk.

Lime Cay: The small island of Port Royal promises some beautiful albeit less developed beaches for those who want to be away from the crowds. Lime Cay is great for a family vacation and you can just hire someone to take you there by boat. Once there, you can spend a fun-filled relaxing day picnicking, swimming and soaking up the sun.

Treasure beach: This is located south of the island next to a small fishing village. The coves here are perfect for snorkeling.

Ocho Rios: Ocho Rios is idyllically located about one and a half to two hours from every major town in Jamaica and is the only town that borders five of the island's most interesting parishes. Given its central location, it is very popular with the tourists and has some great attractions in the vicinity including the spectacular Dunn’s Falls. There is a small but perfectly formed stretch of white sand beyond Island Village where you can laze away the hours in the sun. If you want, you can also try your hand at water sports or cool off with an ice-cream from the adjacent shop. Given the large number of visitors who converge to this area, there are many beautiful Jamaican apartments in Ocho Rios that provide convenient access to the best of what the island has to offer.
